3. Communicators: Communicators serve as the interface between CyberLock hardware and CyberAudit management software. Through a communicator, key information is downloaded into the software and new schedules and permissions are uploaded into the keys.

4. CyberAudit Management Software: CyberAudit is the software suite for management of CyberLock systems of all sizes. The software allows you to assign keys, set expirations, add new cylinders, monitor staff and contractors, create access schedules, and generate audit trails & custom reports.

HOW THE CYBERLOCK SYSTEM WORKS

Step 1 – Install Your High Security Locks: Replace existing mechanical cylinders with CyberLock electronic cylinders. Each CyberLock cylinder is an electronic version of a standard mechanical lock cylinder. Installation requires no wiring, and the cylinder does not contain a battery, simply remove the existing mechanical cylinder and replace it with a CyberLock cylinder.Installation of Cyberlock

Step 2 – Program Your Electronic Keys: Assign CyberKey smart keys to users. CyberKey smart keys are programmed with access privileges for each user and contain a list of locks the user may open with a schedule of days and times they are allowed access. For instance, a key can be programmed to allow access from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Step 3 – Open Your High Security Locks: When a CyberKey meets a CyberLock, the cylinder is energized and an information exchange occurs to determine if the key has access to that specific lock cylinder. Step 4 – Gather Your Audit Trail: When a key is presented to a communication device, the key’s audit trail is downloaded and new access privileges are uploaded. Expiring keys frequently ensures users regularly update their keys. An expired key will not work until it is updated.

WHY CYBERLOCK?

  1. Versatility – Control Access to Every Asset: CyberLock cylinders are easily deployed not only on doors, but also on gates, trucks, shipping containers, and other mobile and remote assets. Full access control is now possible on assets previously restricted to only mechanical locks and keys.

Why Composite Manhole Covers?

During the pre-2011 Elections, there were negative press reports on exposed manholes and these reports highlighted injuries, accidents and in some cases deaths. The exposed manholes were blamed mainly on vandalism & theft of iron cast manhole covers.

In February 2011, wnm limited requested and was granted audience by Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) where the company proposed Secure Composite Cover solution and was subsequently given the opportunity to execute trials. January 2012 wnm limited presented to the Governor of Lagos State and on approval of the proposal to State Tenders Board.

Phase 1 installations consisting of 215 installations of Manhole covers and Gratings commenced in August 2012 and was completed in January 2013 and in February 2013, Phase 2 consisting of 350 installations of Manhole covers and Gratings was completed in January 2014. wnm limited has just recently concluded the phase 3 installation of composite manhole covers and gratings for the Lagos state government, installing composite manhole covers where the steel covers are either damaged or stolen. The project comprised of the installation of 119 manhole covers and 373 gratings in total.

What are Composites?

Composites are products made from two or more constituent materials with significantly different physical or chemical properties, that when combined, produce a material with different characteristics to those of the individual components.

Why Composite Manhole Covers?

  1. Composite Manhole Covers Have No Secondary Market Value and Deters Theft

Cast iron and metal manhole covers are stolen for their scrap value thereby causing safety issues for the general public. Composite Manhole Covers offer a quick, easy and affordable way to prevent manhole cover theft. Composite manhole covers have no secondary market value thereby deterring theft and ensuring safer roads.

  1. Composite Manhole Covers Are Ideal for Corrosive Environments

Sewer and wastewater systems can be highly corrosive. Composite manhole covers do not melt, crack, bend or rust in extremes of environmental elements such as sand and salt water. Also, the composite manhole covers remain unaffected in temperatures even up to 200°F. This inherent corrosion resistance makes composite manhole covers ideal.

  1. Composite Manhole Covers Require Low Maintenance, Reduce Operation Costs and Save Energy

Composite manhole covers and lids require less labour, time and equipment to install and maintain. Composite covers reduces on vehicle weight, fuel consumption and trips required to maintain the covers, in the sense that composite manhole covers weigh less than cast iron manhole covers. The composite covers do not require the significant maintenance or replacement costs of the iron cast manhole covers. Composite manhole covers require very little maintenance to keep them looking clean as they cannot be damaged by traditional problems such as rot, moss and mould.

  1. Composite Manhole Covers Reduced Weight = Reduced Worker Injuries

Thanks to the engineered nature of these products, it is possible to produce largely hollow (and therefore extremely light) elements that are almost as strong, if not stronger, than solid elements made from more traditional materials. Certainly, in most instances the strength of composites is superior to that of traditional materials.

Due to the fact that the composite manhole covers are lightweight, they are easier and safer to handle and put in place. This reduces the record of worker injuries as the manhole cover is more lightweight than the traditional iron cast covers.

  1. Composite Manhole Covers Are Ideal for Non-Conductive Applications

Many Telecommunication companies and electrical utility manhole applications require manhole lids and rings to be non-conductive. Composite manhole lids are well suited for these non-conductive manhole requirements. Manholes can also be fabricated and fitted with non-conductive fiberglass ladders, platforms and railings.

  1. Composite Manhole Covers Are Fully Traffic Weighted.

Composite manhole covers have low deflection and minimal permanent set even under high loads up to 40 tonnes (class D400).  Manufactured to; BS EN 124 Standards and ASTM E-84 Standards.

Our composite manhole covers are secure, locked into place with our secure bolts and keys that prevent unauthorized access. They are also available in different colours which increases safety awareness in industrial environments.

The aim of the seminar was to highlight the benefits of Fibreglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) and Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) over the traditional alternatives used in construction. WPC and FRP are the technologies used by Dura Composites in the production of these Composite Products. The Wood Plastic Composites include Dura decking, tiles, cladding and pontoons while the Fibreglass Reinforced Plastic includes Dura gratings, slabs and profiles. The presentations which were handled by Andy Buckingham, Marine Key Account Manager, and Paul Fletcher, International Sales Manager, Dura Composites (UK), dwelt on alternative building and construction materials, which are a departure from traditional steel, wood and concrete:

  • When it is saturated in water it loses strength and becomes more slippery. However the WPC Decking is made from a mix of recycled plastics and reclaimed hardwood with various bespoke additives, meaning that it gives you a similar appearance to natural wood decking with the benefit of being impervious to issues such as rot, mould and splintering. Furthermore, these composite products are anti-slip and have the added advantage of being maintenance free and aesthetically pleasing.
  • The main drawback of concrete in certain applications such as the use of concrete covers for trenches and gutters is that such application can lead to the use of significant manpower and heavy machinery which increases the cost of construction and maintenance. The Dura Fibreglass slabs however, are lightweight and can support loads of up to 40 tonnes. In situations where Fibreglass passes its load limit it will deflect rather than crack before returning to its original form.
  • Steel is heavy and when exposed to the elements can lead to corrosion. Unlike steel, FRP has an anti-slip surface, can easily be cut in various sizes unlike steel which requires special equipment and individuals trained in metal work. The Dura Profiles are easy to assemble, fire resistant and are more light weight than steel.

During the 11th to the 15th of January, 2015, wnm limited embarked on a week-long introductory campaign, on the advantages of using composite products in construction. On the 14th of January there was a seminar at the Radisson blu Anchorage hotel, Lagos on Dura Composites suite of composite products. Paul Fletcher and Andy Buckingham from Dura Composites UK, facilitated the seminar which was attended by developers, contractors and architects.

Akin Akinola, Chief Executive Officer, wnm limited, gave the opening remarks, highlighting wnm’s history and its vision to be the number one provider of customer centric and innovative business solutions across multiple industries. He also mentioned the projects wnm limited had completed for Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) and Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) to install composite manhole covers and gully gratings in various parts of the state.
